Growing up, my world has revolved around animals. I have structured every aspect of my life around being able to live with them, and even work with them. I also learned the art of photography, editing, and photoshop from watching my dad over the years as he indulged in the hobby of it all. When I lost my dear Thor, I knew then I wanted to combine my passion with my art skills. I want to give families precious memories to hang onto with their loved ones, no matter how many legs they may have.

The supportive husband behind the scenes, who never intended on becoming a photographer. After watching and learning from the sidelines, he decided one day during an event to grab my backup camera and hasn’t put it down since. He loves being able to brainstorm ideas with me, and is always looking to capture everything from multiple angles. Our adventurous personalities combined with a mutual love for all animals makes every session a fun and exciting experience.
Behind the Scenes
Steve Miller
(and no, not the band lol)
The dad who saw something creative in his little girl and encouraged her to embrace her talent and run with it. He and my mom had a camera in my face from before I could remember, then when I got older they gave me a small camera of my own. They gave me a camcorder at one point too, but after zooming up his nose during his nightly "I'm not snoring" episode to see if I could find what was causing it, it surprisingly wouldn't work a lot and the batteries were always dead. So naturally, I have no videography skills....yet . Dad would open up his photoshop, line up some family and animal pictures on the desktop, set me down in front of the computer, and let me run wild. Not sure if that was his creative way of babysitting or just getting my ADHD butt to sit down and hush it, but man it stuck with me like cat hair on a black shirt.

The cheerleader everyone needs in their life. No idea is a bad idea, and she will encourage you to do anything that makes you happy, even if it means sticking a camcorder up dad's nose to prove a point. Look up the definition of optimism in the dictionary and you will see her. Don't have the high-tech gear yet? Don't sweat it, it gives you time to master what you currently own. No sessions being booked? Eh, you needed the rest anyways. Running yourself into the ground between a job and side business? It's a good tired and you should be proud of all you're doing! Tell her 5 things you are doing wrong, and she will give you 10 things you are doing right. When dad and I start throwing out camera settings and terms while talking, she says awesome and sounds great then turns and whispers to my husband "no idea what any of that means". The only time you will see a frown on her face is when dad ate the last of the sweets in the house.

Mia
Mia is what we call in the horse world, my “heart horse”. To everyone else, she is my “first born”. In the winter of 2006, she came into my life as a wild 9 month old filly. We have grown together, trained together, traveled together, and have been inseparable for over half of my life and all of hers. I would not be who I am today, or where I am at in life, if it wasn't for her. I could go on for hours about my girl. She has seen me at every stage in life, from an awkward 13 year old kid to the crazy 30+ adult I am today. I owe it all to her and the major influence she has had, and continues to have, on my life.

I had begun pestering Clayton about how cool it would be to get a cat, only to always be told we didn’t need one. Then one fateful 2020 summer day while out on a walk down a secluded back road near our house, Clayton stops and says “what’s that moving in the ditch?” With no houses or other cats in sight we assumed someone had dumped this poor, defenseless, dirty kitten on the side of the road. Not even old enough for solid food yet, we brought him home and nursed him for another 2 weeks on milk. Now he and the man who said “we don’t need a cat” are inseparable and obsessed with each other.
Moses
Moses came to us in the fall of 2020 at the age of 3. His family at the time was beginning to grow, and he needed more room to run. The fact that he lives life like an open nerve and is unable to sit still for more than 5 seconds, makes for some amazing practice with a moving subject! When I decide to hone in on my action photography skills, all I have to do is grab the tennis ball and WE’RE OFF!

It was shaping up to be a cold, frigid winter by the time November 2022 came around. I looked outside the back window to see if any deer were at the feeder, and saw the most beautiful cat, with ribs showing, strolling across the yard. After some convincing with a plate of wet food, I earned her trust enough to bring her inside to warm her up. She was cold and hungry, and none of the neighbors claimed her as their own. After getting her checked out at the vet, I hugged her tight and said “it’s ok, I’m your mother now.”
Freyja
My husband and I enjoyed coffee dates at the Nine Lives Cat Cafe in Indianapolis, and kept playfully discussing adding another cat to our home during our visits. Clayton has always had a fascination with the "tortie" colored cats, and so when this little girl popped up on their page as available for adoption, he just HAD to go see her. On the surface it was just supposed to be going to play with her and have some coffee, but deep down I knew we would end the day with signing adoption papers. She was very timid and had a fresh set of stitches from her spay surgery, and would barely let us touch her at first. After about a week of hiding under our couch, she busted out of her shell and bounced off the walls....literally. Now she is constantly in my face and uses me and her siblings as trampolines.
Nova
The same visit to the cat cafe where we fell in love with Freyja, another cat caught our attention. Well it wasn't hard to get our attention considering she kept pushing us away from Freyja and trying to get between us, almost like she was protecting her. This cat would then check on Freyja, and love all over her. After discussing this other cat with the cafe staff, we came to realize that these two were not only best buds, but litter mates. Clayton looked at me with pleading eyes and said "babe....we can't separate them" So on our way to the store to get a second cat carrier, I remembered the days when Clayton would always tell me that we didn't need an indoor cat....and now he is convincing ME to have four in our house. It took a whopping 3 hours for her to feel comfortable in our home, and she showed us how she likes to flail herself like a wet noodle with no regards to her own safety and has the survival instincts of a potato chip.
